TAIWAN – Why is Taiwan so important? Just to give you a perspective: 1. In the third quarter of 2022, the U.S. imported 70% of the chips made by TSMC at a total amount of $13.1 billion. TSMC reportedly will introduce the 3 nanometer and 2 nanometer chips to the mass market in Taiwan this and next year, respectively, while it plans to start manufacturing 3 nm in Arizona in 2026. https://news.northeastern.edu/2023/01/13/tsmc-investment-us-taiwan/#:~:text=In%20the%20third%20quarter%20of,nm%20in%20Arizona%20in%202026. 2. Top 5 U.S. export categories to Taiwan in 2022 included soybeans ($1.1 billion), beef ($746 million), wheat ($379 million), poultry ($287 million), and corn ($268 million). 3. Though there is no proof like in Ukraine with DTRA bio-Research (aka weapons) labs, there are articles out which state disinformation that Taiwan has talked about US Bio-weapons labs. Do your own research and decide for yourself! https://thediplomat.com/2023/07/us-bioweapons-story-reignites-concerns-about-disinformation-in-taiwan/ & https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2023/07/11/2003803017 & https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/us-asked-taiwan-to-develop-bioweapons-rise-in-highly-contagious-pathogens-but-101689477710526.html Don’t forget, the US has no legal standing with Taiwan from a defense perspective. The Shanghai communique of 1972 basically indicates that Taiwan is a Province of China and UN Resolution 2758 recognizing China into the UN which Taiwan representatives were then escorted out of the UN further indicating that Taiwan is not sovereign.
